Question Installing a rear-facing car seat

Does my 2000 Toyota Corolla have a LATCH system to secure a car seat? Are there anchor bars, or do I need to use the seat belt? Are the seat belts emergency locking retractor belts? Should the seat be installed in the back center or on a side?

Your 2000 corolla doesn't have latch so you will need to install with a seat-belt.

Most likely you have locking seat-belts, the way to see is pull the belt all the way out slowly and then slowly re-feed it back into the retractor, if you hear a slight click or try to pull the belt back out and it won't then your have a switchable retractor which means the belt will lock.

Either seat is fine for installation as long as you get a good install
