We just bought a prius with leather seats and installing the rear facing carseat yesterday was troublesome for 2 reasons.
1) the seats are slippery and we just couldn't get a secure fit. The bottom is in nice and snug, no side to side movement but it is easy to tilt the back of the seat towards the back seat of the car because there is no friction, then it loosens of the bottom of the coccoro. Any solutions to this? I know I can tether, but I am wondering if there might be other options as well.
2) We are using the latch system so there are two shoulder belts within reach of her from her carseat. I'd like to lock these seat belts so she can't pull them out and get wrapped around her while we are driving but I cannot get them to stay locked. If I pull quick they lock and I'd I retract slowly, they stay locked until they are almost all the way back in, but at a certain point they stop locking. Is there a way to fix this? The dealership said no. But I have always been able to pull out and lock whatever seat belts are near the baby seat in whatever car I am in. Or should I just not worry about this?
Thanks!
