I've tried over and over. It is just too loose. The MR65 was tight. I really want it in the middle. No one else rides in the back. Seems safer from side impact.....

My son is 3, just moving from the MR65, so using with 5 point full model now. (not booster)

It seems the latch belt gets in the way too. I am using the middle shoulder belt. The MR65 was easy every time. I removed the headrest long ago for the MR65.

I did make an appt at my fire station tomorrow, but I like to get it on my own. Any tips?

Where do you think it's staying loose? Is the seat belt getting hung up on something? Is the belt path on the car seat too low for the buckle in your car? A picture might help.

The biggest tip for the Defender is to reach under the cover and pull the belt from inside the seat. I have to do that on every install with this seat. When using the seatbelt, I usually buckle it through the belt path as usual, reach inside and pull the slack out as much as I can, and THEN lock the belt with my free hand. Then I can feed the belt into the retractor as much as possible while holding the tension under the cover. When I get as much as I can in, I let go of the belt inside the cover. I also push against the seat with my leg and shoulder while pulling the belt and feeding it into the retractor. It helps me balance and helps get the seat tight. :)
