Inexpensive travel seat

We are looking for an inexpensive, relatively easy to install convertible seat. DS is 7 months, 18.5ish lbs and 28ish inches. We will be using it for international travel so fitting in small European cars is a must. It will mostly be used in cabs, so a quick install would be good. We are going to get a Radian for his primary ride and don't want to lug that heavy seat around for cab rides.

A Cosco Scenera can be found for under $50 - they are lightweight and great for travel. Depending on the vehicle you might need a rolled up towel or pool noodle to get a good rear facing install, but other than that they install easily.

Agreed a cosco scenera wold work very well. I would pack a noodle or tightly rolled towel as well.

Do you just cut the noodle down to the size of the seat?
