I voted Honda Odyssey because of its reliability and because if I were to buy a miniwan that's what I'd get.

My neighbors have a Kia Sedona and they love it. Easier on the budget than an Ody.

I voted for an MPV. We have two (2000 & 2003) and have been very happy with them. Mazda was bought by Ford, but the MPVs were made in Japan.

That price point can get you into an early 2000's MPV or late 90's Odyssey/Sienna. MPV's have little resale, so you get a much better 'bang for your buck' for that age of vehicle than a Odyssey/Sienna.

If you had over $10K US, than I'd recommend a Sienna or post-2006 Sedona/Entourage. As far as the other options, I'm not a fan of the US made vans and the pre-2006 Sedona doesn't have as good ratings as the pre-2006 MPVs.

You won't find an '05 Ody for $7k in Canada -- IIRC, the current CL price for that year is around $20K or so, depending on model.

I'd go with an older Ody, assuming it had the tranny fixed. Some were recalled for that.

I might consider a Kia/Hyundai van. Not sure about what they are worth.

You might also be better off buying a used vehicle in the US and importing it -- they are a LOT cheaper in the US. Just watch out for flood vehicles and other scams.
