How soon to install infant seat

I'm the sort that would rearrange all the seats to leave room for the baby's, but not install until after birth. I don't have c-sections though and am pretty "perky" after delivery. For a scheduled c-section, I'd put the seat in the night before.

We are due 8/17. Because we bought a different vehicle so no one has to move. I won't install until our due date at least. I was a week late with our 2 youngest. Also we are planning a homebirth. I am hoping to play with it in the next 2 weeks. We are playing musical Carseats with our neighbors. We have a convertible that is good for 4 more years and we want their infant seat which I picked out.

I'm due 9-10, and am super excited to have a Cowmoo Chaperone for the new baby. I have tried the new seat out in my car, but probaby won't install it until a week or two before I'm due. My oldest DD is going to have to move to the 3rd row though (Chrysler Pacifica w/ 6 seats) and I have thought about moving her back so she can get used to getting in that way though..........

This has been a big debate in our house. I'm 29 weeks now and my 4.5 year old will be moved from her spot in the middle which has been hers since birth. We don't know how she will take it and want to make sure she won't begin kicking the driver so we do plan on doing it before it is needed. I plan on moving my oldest in the next week or two and then installing the seat and having it checked (I am not a professional myself) to make sure we didn't make a mistake as it is a new seat for us, the seat will be installed by 34 weeks as I want to train my child not to mess with it too and I want to be sure it works and fits well with my car since it is new while I can still return it and get a different seat if needed.

I don't remember with my first 2, but with my 3rd I installed it at 38 weeks and with the 4th I installed it the day my labor started I was having slight contractions and figured I better install it.
