How do carseat recalls make you feel??

Good points everyone.

For those of you that mention that you pull on the straps of all seats reguardless, would it change anything if the dorel carseat was being used by someone besides yourself, like DH, grand parent, daycare, nanny...ect???

But to clarify, we in no way know that the lube isn't a "real" fix. In the case of something like the lever getting stuck, it makes sense that lube would reduce the friction enough to solve the problem. I used to play trumpet. Sometimes the valves would get stuck. If I lubed them they worked properly again. So the fix makes sense. It may not seem as substantial as other fixes, but if it solves the problem is solves the problem. And I would think they tested it out to make sure it worked for at least a while, and by keeping an eye on your seat you would know if it started doing the sticking thing again (and maybe it never would, we just don't know).

Most know how I feel about it.

This most recent recall really concerns me. Even more so than the first recall on my seat. At least there is a way around the first one if need be. Even after I lube it up for the second recall, I don't know how long it would last or what other problems may be caused. No.thank.you.very.much. I am comfortable with the company....slightly... They are getting "better", but they do have soooo many recalls. I'm suprised I got the above mentioned seat anyway, I should have known better.

I want to confidently be able to tell a parent that the CA is a good option for them. I would like to think that I would be willing to use one since ds likely won't make it to 4 rfing by height in the xtsl, but... Depends on how much they are willing to stand behind their product. The CA should be such an easy suggestion for a higher weight rfing seat that also works for tall kids. It has a great price point compared to the only other seat that rf's over 35# and has a shell tall enough to keep a child of like growth pattern to my ds in the safEST installed position. I want to like it. I do. If it weren't for their recall issues, I could find myself able to overlook the twist-prone continuous harness. :duck:
