HELP! Tether shredded!

While loading my spare Roundabout into my car after picking up my child the tether must have been caught in the door. Well it got caught under the wheel and actually stopped my car. Needless to say the strap is shredded and I nearly cried. There is just enough left that wasn't shredded to tether it RF in the other car child rides in. My concern is there won't be enough length for other cars and the fact that DH melted the strap together at the end to keep it from slipping out, but I'm afraid this won't hold in an accident. I don't think stupidity is covered in the warranty. What should I do? I already have three Britax including this one all under a year old. Do I buy another? Tethering rear facing is my favorite Britax feature. Please help.:(

You'd be surprised how often this happens...you aren't alone! Call them in the morning and buy a new tether, they are easy to replace

That nearly happened to my RA too. I heard something hitting the undercarraige and pulled over to find my tether loose:eek:

I actually mentioned this to Sarah Tilton at Britax about this problem in September at a conference. Hopefully she'll take Janice's suggestions (Janice, mom to Cias was there too).
