Help me choose a new carseat

DS is 3.5 years old, 33 lbs, and about 38 inches tall.
DD is 2 months old, 9 lbs, 21-22 inches.
I drive a 2002 Ford Escape & DH drives a 2006 Chevy Silverado Extended Cab.
Right now DS is RF in a Classic Marathon & DD is in a rear-adjust SR22.
I prefer to be able to tether RF in the truck.

I think I want to put DD RF in the Marathon & move DS to a new seat, probably FF.

I was considering getting a Maestro, a Nautilus, or a Frontier 85 for DS.
Maestro seems to fit him ok, the crotch strap on the Nautilus looked uncomfortable, & DS loved the Frontier 85.
I could get a new convertible for DD & put DS FF in the Marathon.
DH is concerned DS is uncomfortable RF, as he was complaining about his legs hurting on our drive from FL to NC.
I HATE the rear-adjust SR22 & can't justify spending the money on a front-adjust infant seat.

What seat should I get for DS or should I get a different seat for DD?
Another classic marathon? A MA70 for DD? Other suggestions?

I have a Maestro and love it. So does my daughter. It's also the most economical option. I would check to make sure your DD fits in the MA. Some kids don't have the torso length to make it to the bottom slots.

Id go with a Maestro for the older child.

See if the baby fits in the Marathon, my DD didnt fit til almost 6 months old and she was very long torsoed.

The straps on the Maestro rub on DS neck & he doesn't like it :(
Today he wants to stay RF. Ugh the changing minds of toddlers/preschoolers.
Maybe get him a convertible to keep him in RF longer & DD can use it until he until he outgrows the MA RF if she doesn't fit?
Also have a Eddie Bauer harness to booster we can use for a little while & a Graco ComfortSport that expires in December 2011 we can use for now.
