Help - 2009 Recaro Como G2 - keep or replace?

I have a Recaro Como G2 with a manufacture date of 6/25/09. This was my now 7.5 year old daughter's convertible seat (she is now in a Recaro high back booster).

I have a 9 month old baby that is about to outgrow her infant seat.

The Como has been stored in our basement for a few years. Apparently, one of our cats peed on it. I took it all apart, but it's down to the foam. I contacted Recaro and asked about replacement foam/straps, and it would cost at least $40 to replace those.

Ok, given that the seat has about 1.5 years left in its lifespan, but my new daughter will need one for at least the lifespan of a new one (~6ish years) and I'd have to spend at least $40 to get replacement parts....I should just get a new seat, right?

I would. I only liked that seat for forward facing anyway :). I feel your pain, though. My Como with two years left on it got moldy and I chose to just toss it. Bummer.

That seat is a killer rear-facing! Haha

I've been out of the loop for convertibles for a while now - suggestions for a 2013 Kia Sorento? I only have two across :)

There are lots of great convertibles! The first that spring to mind are the Graco MySize/Size4Me/HeadWise and Chicco NextFit. The Evenflo SureRide seems popular, too. Of course, there's Britax, Maxi Cosi Pria, Diono, the Peg Perego convertible and the Foonf. So many!

Sent using the app. :)
