Question head flopping forward when sleeping

What can I do to help dd when she falls asleep in the car? It's only in her radian, not in her blvd, her head flops so far forward it's painful to look at. She slept like that for an hour and didn't complain when she woke up but still... Ouch!!

What exactly will reclining the seat do? Will it truly give her a recline or is it just to help with installs in some vehicles? I'd hate to recline her like a "baby"... She already feels smaller now with the radian as her main seat because she can't see out the windows any more :(

I'm considering getting her a travel pillow - you know the ones that look like mini boppy pillows that are marketed for grown ups flying? Or has anyone on here had something that worked for their floppy headed kiddos?

TIA!!

Reclining the seat will give her just a smidge of recline. Not enough for her to feel like a baby. It may or may not be enough to help with the head flop.

Remember, if she's not complaining about it, it's only painful to look at. ;)

I know pixels... It just pains me to look at - id be out of commission for a day if i napped like that! rofl!

I actually found a squishy microbead u shaped pillow in my closet last night that I totally forgot about. I'll put it in the car and see how it goes. Until she complains, I'll leave the seat alone lol!

:)

I reclined ds's seat a bit, and it stopped the head slump.

I have a 4yo who likes to be in the middle of all the action, and she didn't mind the little recline. If you are not afraid of messing up a good install, I would try it, she may like it (or at least not mind it)...and it could save you from having to finagle with a pillow each time you put her in the car.

Thanks! I'm going to not mess with my install and keep the pillow in the car just in case. She doesn't fall asleep consistently in the car, but never predictably... She could be dog tired and stay awake or a two hour ride but then be well rested and entertained back there and pass out on errand runs. When she does fall asleep, she falls hard! Lol!!
