harness height

I have my 40 pound 2.5 year old in a Regent and I have been having a blast with install problems trying to switch from the long to short route! Anyway, I need to reinstall it (pray) for the last time, to deal with a buckle stalk issue and would like an opinion on whether or not to move the harness height up one slot while I am at it.
The harness currently, is at his shoulder height (give or take a cm depending on what he is wearing). But the next slot up looks so high. It is even with his ears. I don't want to go through the install mania again when he grows a couple cm. Which could be overnight, or not for months.

What would you do??

up.

there really isn't any danger that I know of by having it come from above....heck, in my vehicle, the seat belt comes down out of the ROOF.

If that's the highest he is (on your give or take a cm-o-meter), I'd leave it for now. If that's the lowest he is, I'd move it up. Britax does have a handy mantra for this situation, though, "When in doubt, move it up"...it'll seem high for a few weeks, he might even start looking even smaller, but after a month or two it'll seem perfect to have it in that next slot up...and it should fit in that one for at least a year :)

I was having this same dilemma with my Nautilus. I couldn't tell whether dd was just under or right at the third slots, so I moved them up.
