Graco Snug ride expiry

6 years from the date of manufactor or December of the 6th year.

Is there any infor that tells why they expiry?

The link to the TC notice is in the Scenera/Regal Ride expiry thread. (I don't have the new site bookmarks yet, so don't have it handy to re-post this second.)

Graco does use December the 6th year of DOM, although sometimes seats made in January actually expire in Dec the 5th year of manufacture so more like 5yrs 11 mos.

Reason? Technology changes, parts wear out, materials degrade, seats are more likely to be through multiple owners and have unknown histories, manuals are more likely to be missing, parts are more likely to be missing, and replacement parts and manuals likely aren't even available from the manufacturer anymore.

When I think about the huge changes that have occurred in just the last couple of years, I can only imagine what things will be like in another 4yrs from now. Even if there were no other reason besides technology advances that increased protection to a child, I would want to quit using an expired seat for that reason alone.

But for those wanting more reasons than that, there are quite a few others. :thumbsup:
