Question Graco Size4Me Concerns

My mom has a Graco Size4Me in her Ford Fusion. It's in the middle seat, and it's secured with the seatbelt.

It's also loose as heck and slides all over her leather seats despite the blanket underneath to secure it further.

My other concern is the straps on my daughter don't get tight. I have adjusted the straps to the correct height on her shoulders, but no matter how much I tighten the straps, they're still loose.

Is this just the seat or something we are doing wrong? When the seat was first installed, it was perfectly snug and so in, but the straps were still loose. My daughter is 32", 24# and 14 months old.

Thank you!!!

I had the same issue with the straps not tightening on 3 different Size4Me seats. There are threads here with tips and tricks others have found helpful to tighten the harness. For me they didn't work and we got rid of the seats. I didn't have an install issue with them but we only installed with LATCH.

If you can't get a secure install in the center then you need to move the seat outboard. It isn't recommended to use a blanket under a seat, especially if it's thick, that could give you a false sense that the seat is installed tight enough. If you think you need something to protect the seat upholstery make sure it's something thin.

Thank you all. I'll give the suggestions a try!

My mom is also going to have the seat inspected again. I think the seatbelt loosened somehow. There is a thin receiving blanket under the seat so as not to damage the leather in her lease vehicle. But maybe it's not the right kind?

I appreciate all your suggestions and info!

I wouldn't have a problem with a thin receiving blanket personally, I don't think it would affect the install. But definitely try moving it to the outboard position if you can't get it tight in the middle, sometimes middle seat belts can be funky. Try with latch or seat belt and see which one gets you a better install on the outboard side.
