Graco. Nautilus expiration

I have a graco nautilus that has the date of manufacture listed as 20090106. It also has stamped on the bottom not to use tr back after 2014.

Isn't the nautilus supposed to last 6 years? Taking me to 2015?

6 years would be until January 6, 2015. I would guess that they did a little rounding.

THe Nautilus back does last for 6 years. I would call them and see what they say. Also the base is still good for 3 more years with a total of 9 so you could order a new back and head rest for about 30.00 and use the seat the full 9 years.

The seat has been sitting in my garage for close to two years. I was just cleaning out. I'll give them a call and see what they say. I've never heard of replacing the back! That's a great idea if we decide to keep it as a harness or HBB. We have a bunch of extra backless boosters already, so having a HBB or harness seat would be great.

Remember, though, that the booster part is allowed to be used 9 years as a booster. It's possible they don't know if the crotch strap and harness adjuster, both of which take the majority of the crash forces in a harnessed seat, and are in the backless portion, are reinforced enough to last for 9 years.
