Graco Argos Elite or Britax Frontier 90 for our tall toddler

I am torn between the Graco Argos Elite (Pros: adjustable head support, steel frame, price, seat belt lock offs) or the Britax Frontier 90 (pros well everything except the price and I worry about the head support).

Our daughter is 3, just outgrew her Britax Advocate in my sedan due to torso length but she only weighs 34lbs. She is super tall and super skinny.

I like the looks of the Pinnacle 90 but it is just not in the budget. I REALLY want to stay around $200 or less.

She has seizures so head support is important to me in the car. My car also is horrible to install car seats in. Has a locking latchplate and I have had so much trouble with it.

Any tips? tricks? recommendations? I would like to harness her for as long as possible, not concerned with her outgrowing a car seat due to weight, just height.

Hi and welcome! I think hunting down a good deal on the Frontier 90 is going to be your best bet for a kiddo with a torso long enough to have outgrown an Advocate at 3 years old. The top harness slot of Frontier 90 is a good 1.5-2 inches taller than the Argos. Additionally, I believe that the Argos (like the Nautilus that it is based on) is prone to causing kids' heads to slump forward. Most kids aren't bothered by it, but if you are looking for head support from a carseat, I think the Frontier is more likely to offer that. I know the Frontier is pricey, but based on the info you shared, it would be my recommendation. :twocents:

If you can find a good deal on a fr85 that may also be an option.
