Furniture Straps-Do/Did You Use Them?

Canadianmomtwo3 that is a very scary story, I'm glad no one was seriously hurt. Some good ideas from all, I think I will use a combination of them for different pieces of furniture. The stove brackets come with stoves when you buy them, but some people don't install them. My stove has a lockout that locks the door, so it isn't really too big of an issue, since we keep it locked all the time, but we still have the anti-tip bracket installed.

Picture frame wire is a good idea, I was thinking about getting nylon webbing and using a large screw with a fender washer on both the wall and the furniture, but the wire would allow for better tightening I think. Did you use eyebolts on both sides?

yep i screwed in eyelet screws (or eyebolts... is that what they're called?) at each end of the back of the furniture, then ran the cable across... i actually like the idea of the screw with fender washer... we just used a picture hook, which now i realize is not as secure as a screw with washer...

I usaually ancor with heavy picture wire connected to a screw in the back of the furniture to another screw in a wall stud. Or, if you can get the right placement that lines up with a stud "L" brackets work good too.

i like that idea.
