Frontier 85 and RF Radian question

I've searched for a while, but haven't found anything exactly on target.

I currently have a RF Radian in the center, and FF Marathon outboard (part of a three-across install in a small car). Since the maximum exterior width of Marathon and FR85 is shown as being pretty much the same (19-19.5"), I'm wondering if a FR85 is likely to fit in the same space as the MA -- anyone with relevant experience or comments? I realize the MA and FR85 don't have their maximum width in exactly the same place, and the shape of the two seats is different. That's why I wonder if anyone has an idea if FR85 fits better/worse/similar to a MA next to a RF Radian.

DS2 is maxed out on height in the MA, and I'm trying to figure out what to move him into next. He's nearly 6, so booster is an option. However, I'm wondering about potential fit of harnessed seats also.

The Frontier 85 doesn't puzzle great with the Radian because of the cupholders. They round out at the front corner (the widest part of the seat). The Marathon is wider higher up, so is overhangs the Radian. I'm not sure what the width of the base on the Marathon is. Maybe you could measure that and see what the difference is. Another option might be the original Frontier. I would think that it would be a bit narrower because the cupholders fold up, but I'm not sure. Maybe someone else has an idea about that.

Yes on the overhang (and great puzzling) when the MA and Radian are facing the same way. However, with them facing in opposite directions, as I have them now, the widest part of the Marathon is pretty much hard up against the Radian, and they don't 'share' space much at all. That's why I was hoping the Frontier might fit into the same spot. It all depends so much on the specific shape of the seats. Thanks for the comment on where the widest part of the Frontier is.
