Free FFS Car Seat Covers

These aren't popular seats around here, but they are in the real world. I have a bunch and I know Lorismurph would love them for her crafty stuff, but I thought I'd offer for use with car seats first. (I have covers from discontinued seats for lori anyway.) The covers are for: snugride 22a, rear and front adjust, a discovery, and embraces, rear and front adjust. Also, the cover for the turbo back and torso wings, but not the bottom.

Here's the album

Any cover(s) you want are free for shipping. The canopies, when present have not been washed.

I'm absolutely interested! Can you tell me how to tell if I have a front or a rear adjust seat? It's an old school one (DOM 12/2005) so I *think* it's front adjust, but I need to be sure. If that's the case I'd really like the cover in picture 2.

You realize your seat will expire in December of this year, right? Some people only have need for a seat for a couple of months, so it may work for you, but I just wanted to make sure you knew :).

If there is a strap that comes out from between baby's feet, it's a front adjust. If it has 2 straps hanging from the back, it's rear. They still make both versions, so date of manufacture doesn't tell you which you have.

Yeah, I know it expires this December. Babe is due in January and we will literally stop using it when the bitterness from Winter is over. *Maybe* 2-3 months. Tops.

Thanks for the explanation. We have one that tightens from the baby's feet. Front adjust it is. :)

Since you don't need it for awhile, that is good. I'm leaving on vacation on Monday and will return on Wednesday, the 17th. Message me then which cover you'd like and your zip code.

Are you aware you can get a new infant seat for around 100 dollars...none of us would recommend using a seat for even a day after it expires

If you are in need of a safe seat for an infant, you can get one fairly cheaply. You could probably get a convertible free from SafeKids. An expired seat is not a safe seat.

I appreciate your concern and would expect nothing less on a car seat safety board. My husband and I are comfortable with our decision as we do not believe that the parts magically fall apart and combust on the magical day of the sixth year. Rather, we both feel as if the manufacturers have a slight "cushion" before the seat is worthless. We don't make a habit of using expired seats, but want to get this one through our coldest month(s) before shelling out for a new seat.

FWIW, this is a conscious choice and not based on money.

Actually, Graco already builds in a "cushion" by having the seat expire at the end of the sixth year instead of on the sixth birthday.

Are you really comfortable speculating with your baby's life, since you are able to afford a new safe seat? If you are concerned with consumer waste, you could donate the new seat to a women's shelter or you could purchase a convertible that you can use for the seat's lifespan.

If I understand Graco's information correctly, a DOM 1/2005 and a DOM 12/2005 both expire on 12/2011. Which would mean that the "cushion" for the seat I have could technically ride out another theoretical eleven months as my seat's sixth birthday is 12/2011. I'm not talking about a seat with an unknown origin...I'm talking about a seat that I used very briefly for both my children and have kept stored in a cool location as to not cause it harm.

Again, thank you for your concern (and I mean no snark with that), but we are comfortable with this decision to use this seat for an extremely short time before jumping to a high-quality convertible.

Possibly insterested in the cover is the first pic (the grey plaid SR22, front adjust). I know you're gone on holidays....but when you're back, can you let me know about the condition? Any pilling or stains? Do you have any of the inserts? Thx!
