We are expecting a new baby in a few weeks. I installed a Snugride 30 passenger outboard in my 2008 Camry (seatbelt base install) and moved DS's (3 yo, about 37.5" and 32 lb) FF Blvd 70 to the center (also seatbelt install). I wanted to leave a seat open behind the driver for occasional passengers and to give myself a place to sit and help buckle DS in.
This weekend I rode in the backseat while my FIL was visiting and realized how tight that space is! I am wondering if there is a narrower seat that could replace the Blvd, or one with less of a base that would puzzle better with the Snugride. As is the widest part of the two seats are at exactly the same height.
I have looked at the radian - which seems to be the narrowest option, but don't need the RF ability and figure a FF only seat with extra harness height would be longer lasting. Originally I was looking at the Frontier 85 or Prosport as a combo seat for DS, but it looks like they are just as wide as the Blvd.
This is our main car and we do a 3-6 hour drive a few times a year, so comfort is important.
Any recs for a seat that will puzzle with the Snugride (and ideally puzzle with a RF Blvd when the Snugride is outgrown) and take up less space than the Blvd?
