I used a fleece suit (LL Bean) for DS2 last winter and I found I preferred just the thin jacket and blankets option for the car like I had used with DS1. The suit is too bunchy when it is still on the big side in terms of fit and I always had to pull the slack out of the suit - so to speak - to make sure there was no bunching under the harness. The suit was great for other things, but I won't be getting a bigger one this year. I already have good hand-me-down car jackets anyway!

Oh just wanted to say that if you collect airmiles and order from LL Bean (free shipping)-go to airmiles first, then go to "earn" and then under there you can go through airmiles shops. LL Bean is on there and then when you order through LL Bean or other shops, you earn airmiles just from going throught he airmiles site.

We have a MEC suit and like it although the top part where the zippers go up is too "high" and I need to add a snap or something so it doesn't cover babe's chin and such.

To keep in mind for next year :) You can also get a Yeti hooded fleece jacket and Yeti pants from MEC. Not quite as ideal as the snowsuit in terms of getting it on easily, but they're made of the same material. It's what I've used for my DD since she's grown out of the fleece one-pieces.

I really like the Patagonia Puffball line for my kids. Although the name would make it seem otherwise, they are actually very, very thin!

We do use fleece (like MEC Yeti & Ursus) in the fall, early/late winter, & spring, but for the cold, cold Canadian mid-winter days, the Patagonia are much warmer because of the wind resistant shell.

We've on only had the jackets, but MEC does carry a one-piece and seperate pants. FYI - they fit big, so don't size up!

Does anyone know of gear that suits older kids? I have a five year old and most of these suits is for smaller children :)
