Favorite convertible carseat

I haven't bought a convertible carseat since we bought the Nextfit when it was brand new in 2013. DD just turned 1 and we are about ready to move her out of the Britax Bsafe35. She's 29" and about 21 lbs with more than 1" over her head, so I have a little time to think about it.

My initial plan was just to move her to the Nextfit.....but I thought I'd see if anyone loves another seat more. DS2 still fits FF in the Nextfit in DH's car....but as he just turned 5 and is over 40lbs. We have been booster training and he does better than my 7 yr old....it makes enough sense to booster him full-time in the secondary car.

Our Nextfit has slightly cracked foam in the headwings....so I need to email Chicco again and see what they say. I also need to see about getting new harness pads....as I had to take this one apart to wash and it's beastly trying to get these original harness pads back on!

Does anyone have a newer favorite convertible seat? Something comfortable, minimal to no headslump rf, easy to install, and easy to load and unload child. She's very average for both height and weight, so I should have no problem keeping her rf to at least age 3 in just about any seat.

Sorry this is so long and thanks for the help!

I haven't used a next fit so I can't really compare it to other seats. But I really liked our britax convertible seats. We have had multiple different ones but they have all been really easy to use and install. You could check them out in a store to see if any of those seats appeal to you.

The other seats you might like are the graco convertibles. The clones are well liked, as is the new extend to fit. I haven't seen the extend to fit forward facing yet but with such high rear facing limits you might never need to use it forward facing.

Do you need a harness to fit your 5 year old for long trips? Something the baby and the bigger one can share?

Another vote for the Milestone, although I also really like our Nextfit. The Milestone is lighter, though, and I think it's actually easier to install.
