EFTA knob?

If you have the EFTA, is it hard to loosen the straps once they are tight? I have been putzing with a few in the store and sometimes it seems like the harness won't loosen up once it is tight. I wasn't sure if this is because they are store models and have probably been there forever, and have had a bunch of people playing with them or if that is just how they are. It makes me nervous to get a seat like this if it is going to be that way when I get it home. thanks!

I used to have an EFTA. At first, it was a little difficult to loosen, but after I got used to the system it wasn't a big deal. It could be that they are stiff from being played with so much, or perhaps because they haven't been used much. It does take some getting used to, and for the whole time I had the seat I did have to push down pretty hard on the release tab to loosen the harness. However, it wasn't hard or a hassle.

Some people love the knob system while others really dislike it. It's a matter of personal preference. If you think it might bug you, there are many other great seats on the market worth considering. Please let us know if you'd like some suggestions. :)

You have to fiddle with them a bit to "learn" them, but it's not trouble at all now. I played with it enough before DD was born that I had no trouble after she was born. LOL We've had ours for almost 2 years now and it's seen some *heavy* use, by both kids. I loosen and tighten every time and they work fine.

I have the problem with the same system on my Chase which is a year, year and a half old already...
It sometimes takes 2 hands, and even then doesn't always work...I try tugging on the straps while pushing it down, release my hands from the lever, and retry, and usually eventually get it...
But it has not been easy, and it's one of the reasons I'm wary about getting the EFTA...

I have an EFTA, and have no problems. I can "unlock" the harness with one hadn, but usually need my second hand to spin the loosener/tightener, lol. If that makes sense.

I couldn't figure it out at first but I found that if I turn the knob just slightly backwards from the direction that you tighten, it is so much easier to push the lever down which allows the harness to loosen. I'm not sure if that makes any sense but I hope it helps!

I have one and love it. My dh loves it too. I think it is really easy to loosen. You just pull on the straps while pressing the lever.
