I tripped with my baby going downstairs. She was in her carseat and is just fine. She flipped at least one time and landed on concrete. My question is do I need to replace the carseat?

Thank you,

Jamie

Glad to hear she is ok. About how many steps did it go down? Was the fall hard? I would probably replace it if there was any visible damage to the seat, I would think this could be likened to checking a seat on an aircraft, especially if it landed on concrete.

Oh my! Thank goodness you and baby are ok!

I would probably replace the seat. Call Chicco customer service and see what they say.

I am glad to hear that she is ok!

Assuming that it landed pretty hard on the concrete, I would probably also replace it but as said, you can call their customer service number to double check.

When DS2 was 18 months old, I dropped our SS1 with him in it down the stairs. I had tripped and he went down at least 3-4 stairs before hitting the wall at the bottom.

He was fine but his seat was not. We used the seat to get where we were going and then looked it over. There was a crack in the outer plastic. We immediately stopped using the seat and grabbed the spare from my mom's car. I'd check the seat over really, really well. And then I'd get a new seat because you just never know what happened to the plastic.

I'm glad to hear that you guys are ok. Falls are always so scary.

I would absolutely replace the seat. Part of the used seat checklist is that it hasn't been damaged, crashed, or dropped. There's no way to know if there has been stress put on the plastic that could affect the performance - if we were talking about a 1 foot fall on to carpet or something then it wouldn't concern me, but the seat fell on concrete and the harness has fully supported babies weight while the seat flipped down the stairs - not the full forces of a collision, but there has still been stress on that system.
