I sent them an email inquiring if they ever give away carseats that are sent to them and to make sure they are aware of the issues surrounding reusing carseats (expirations/after an accident/etc). I've ordered from them before and been very pleased, so hopefully, I will get a positive response this time, too.

I just discovered that Baby Earth has a store here in the Austin area! I've been meaning to get up there and check it out!

I'll ask about recycling car seats when I go too now that I've seen this.

i got an email back that was pretty generic--no recognition of the fact that expired and crashed seats cannot be reused--just a "we donate for reuse what is in good condition".

i'll respond to that later today--i might actually call.

Please update when you do. i'm not in Austin but travel there every once in a while so could take seats there if they really do recycle.
