DH wants to FF

We have a Diono RadianRXT Convertible in a VW Jetta wagon (2005 if that matters). I think we're using latch. DS is 3.5 and I think still in range for RF (though I need to measure him). We recently had to take the seat out and when DH replaced it he couldn't get it in solidly. So now he's telling me let's just turn him around and has already turned his other seat, 1st yrs tru fit, around in his car.

We have the wedge that's made for it. Can someone tell or direct me to tips for getting this in solid? I'm not ready to turn it around if I don't have to.

Thanks!

Hi. I'm sure someone will help you with the angle adjuster and latch matter. I used to own Radian XTSL and it was a beast to install so I totally understand your frustration. However, at 3.5, I wouldn't be concerned about forward facing him. I think you have done a great job rear facing thus far! If you can't get a solid install while rfing then it's better to ff him with a tighter installation.

Here is a past post regarding the issue:

Thank you! That is actually a good "back to earth" reminder! Thankfully I don't drive him often, but if we can't get it I'll keep your words in mind :)

Are you just testing for tightness at the belt path?

Some things that I find help depending upon the vehicle is pushing down with my knee into the seat while tightening, pushing from behind the seat while tightening, twisting the buckle stalk down up to 3 times if it's a seatbelt install and the buckle is hitting the entrance of the belt path, if using latch put the tightening strap back through the belt path and pull from the opposite side, or make the seatbelt/latch strap snug then lift up the seat and put the angle adjuster in.

I don't have any experience with your particular vehicle but using those above tips has allowed me to get a quick and easy install in all of the vehicles that I have tried with my radians.
