I'm looking for advice on a carseat for daycare. We would probably also use it for travel. Our current carseat is a Marathon.
DS is ~16 months, 23lbs, 31" tall. He's still rearfacing and I would like to keep him that way as long as possible. Our new daycare provider is asking for a seat she can leave installed in her vehicle, a 2010 Toyota Sienna. She has 3 kids, so I expect she'll be installing him somewhere in the back row. My parents have a Safety 1st Scenera that I don't like at all, and my ILs have a low-end Evenflo (US seat) that I also had trouble with, so we're willing to spend up to $200 for something that will be easy to install, potentially travel with, and be fairly easy to use.
Another alternative DH and I still have to discuss is sending our current Marathon to daycare and purchasing a Radian for our vehicle. We have a 2008 Toyota Rav4, with the carseat installed behind the passenger. I've heard the Radian is tougher to install and a bit tougher to adjust the straps, but I'd love to hear more pros/cons on this option as well.
