Curious...why is this unacceptable?

I know it's a big no-no to use both seatbelt and latch in installation. I'm just curious as to *why*. Obviously it's unnecessary, but is it actually going to hurt anything?

We don't know if it (a) has been tested that way and failed, or (b) has not been tested that way at all.

It is a no-no because you don't want your child to be the crash-test dummy for this configuration. It could be very dangerous.

I read some where (I forget where!) that it can cause the two to rub together and cause fraying.

Maybe I read that in one of my carseat manuals???

I thought extra force on the seat in a crash could cause the seat to break
