Cosco Scenera almost outgrown...

I have a 2010 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab. Right now I have my 4y7m old in the middle in a Cosco Scenera (Expires 2019) in the center seating position and my 1 year old in a Britax Marathon G3 (Expires 2020) behind the driver. I think my oldest is going to outgrow his seat fairly soon because the straps will no longer be above his shoudlers.

He is about 38" and 30lbs and his seat goes to 43"/40lbs.

My plan is to just switch the kids seats and put my baby in the Scenera and my older in the Marathon forward facing. I will probably need to move my rear facing seat to the center and put the FF Marathon behind the driver. From my understanding, you should always have the least protected child in the center. Should I wait as long as possible (until the straps are no longer at his shoulders) or is it okay to move them now?

Seems to fit ok. I adjusted to recline 1, move the straps so they will be above his shoulders (but he's in school now) and installed with seatbelt and red lockoff, attached top tether. I removed the infant cushion and moved the crotch buckle to the outer slot.

Folded the foot in on the scenera, installed with latch, moved the straps down to the second from bottom slot. Crotch buckle is in the middle slot. The top of the seat does not touch the drivers seat.

Seats are both installed tightly with less than 1" of movement. They are not touching each other at all.

Anything I am missing?

The only thing to double check is that particular scenera has a line that has to be level when rearfacing. As long as the line is level, it sounds ok.

Looks level to the ground to me, at least within a couple of degrees. Thanks! I can't wait to get my babies in here now.

It looks to me like unfortunately the Scenera needs to be more reclined. The bottom edge of the window frame is usually level, and if you compare that with the little black arrows on the white sticker on the side of the carseat, it looks to me like it needs to be more reclined. Bumping for other opinions on this.

I don't know why it looks like that up against the window....but up against the floorboard/frame/ground it is level. I feel confident that he is safe. I can definitely see that it doesn't look correct up against the far side window though...hmph...doesn't seem possible for it to be parallel to both but from the outside of my truck the window looks parallel to the ground. Maybe I should get him another next and not have to worry about it...but I love the buckles on the old scenera soooo much more.
