I only owned one for a day...it was a pain to install rear-facing. And from what I've read on this board, it's outgrown rather quickly forward-facing. HTH Maybe more people will chime in that had one longer than I did.

I loved the seat , but my daughter outgrew it at age 2....I only got one year out of it:mad:   So, my advice is to spend that $100 towards a Britax convertible which will last your child until at the very least age 4. I wish I had known this before I got the Comfortsport.

Me too! I liked my comfortsport but it was outgrown at just over a year. I didn't have any install issues but it was a pain in the butt to tighten the harness when it was rearfacing (forward facing was no problem). I too only got a year out of it

I am in Canada and my seat was going for $189  I ended up selling it and buying a MA which I love and is really easy to use (although I didn't find the CS hard to use but the MA is even easier!).

ok thanks I had done a search and I read someones response to the graco comfortsport you cant use the top slots for the rear facing, (which hes still under a year and he has plenty to go before hitting the weight for most car seats rear facing. Im trying to get her to ask her ex for money to put towards a marathon but she doesnt want to ask. and she can't afford a marathon, if I had the extra money I would help out and im almost about to tell her if she will spend the 200 on her target credit card I will pay the rest (of course next paycheck ) so she can get the marathon at Target. This is also the same one I had tell me its a law in louisiana to put them forward facing at a year and 20 pounds. I almost went ballistic on her cause I told her nooo, and I was trying to buy her a scenra, cause its a cheap car seat and you guys have said if you have to go cheap its the best one to go with, especially because of the rear facing limit of 35 pounds. But they didnt have it at Walmart, (and they went up on price at walmart too they're 50 now)
But im trying to figure out whats going to be the best for her in her price range. Im thinking the Scenera, and then she can save up to get him a Regent, cause by the time he's out of that one, (since hes not growing as fast as mine are) that she would have time to save up and then get him in a regent about 3ish. And wouldnt have to buy another car seat. Whatever she does she needs to do it NOW, because her son is still in his carrier and he's taller and weighs a pound more than my son, so he needs to be out of that and pronto. Which was why I tried to get her the scenera but they didnt have it. Did you guys know they have a Scenera that has the overlap bar?? I saw that today as one of the displays at Walmart, never knew that.

The overhead "bar" you mentioned is called and Overhead shield- and is NOT recommended by anyone here- since I believe it only has a 3 PT harness- not a 5 PT harness, and the shield is a safety hazard. They are still sold, though, but definitely not a smart choice. A regular Scenera is fine, without the OHS....also the Safety 1st Uptown is about $90 at Walmart- Rear-faces to 35 lbs, then FF to 40 lbs- it has taller slots than the Scenera and is nicely padded.

The Safety First Uptown convertible ($89-99) at some WalMarts has the same weight limits as the Scenera, has a more plush and padded cover, EPS foam lining, and has taller top shoulder harness slots, so it might be a good option for her if that's available there. Target and KMart also sell a 5-point harness Scenera model. Some Targets charge $39 and others charge $50 for the 5-point Scenera depending on the location/region and Kmart typically charges about $50 (unless there's a sale).

As you noticed, yup, there is an overhead shield (OHS) version of the Scenera, too. The OHS model isn't recommended and ironically it's usually priced higher than the 5-point model, misleading some buyers into thinking it's safer/better than the 5-point model. :(

The harness is hard to change when RF because of how low the lever is. You are like fighting with the seats. the boys mom gave me them to have in my car but i didnt like them and i got a MA and BV and at 15 months than they only have 2 inches to the top slot
