Combination seat for sitter/travel?

What do you recommend for combination seats for a sitter to use in her car and/or travel? Our sitters' cars usually do not have a LATCH system or top tether. My daughter is 4 1/2 years old, 37 inches tall, 31 lbs. Thank you.

I wouod encourage you to get a top tether retrofitted. They're important when forward facing even when the seat is installed with seat belt. I believe they were standard beginning in 2000. Seats I'd look at are the maestro, secure kid, sure ride and harmony defender.

I'm a nanny and my car had no tethers. I used a Nautilus without the tether and was comfortable with it. They test very well without the tether.

Thanks! Let me look into retrofitting the top tether. I have to check the car manuals.

I checked the Nautilus on Amazon, but it's 25 lbs. If I could find something lighter, that would be better, b/c we'll be moving it in and out of different sitters' cars. Thanks though!

Evenflo Maestro or Harmony Defender.

Most people hate the Defender's crotch strap, but I understand that if you call them they can send you a longer one which should be more comfortable.

I'm not sure it's worth the hassle when the Maestro is cheaper anyway, but if you don't care for the Maestro for some reason, it's another affordable option.

really they will send you a longer crotch strap? I emailed them regarding this and never got a response! I don't want to buy one if I do not know for sure that this is an option!
