Sorry that i am confused with the manual

The middle back seat of my car have only ELR Lap and Shoulder belt (ie. 3pt belt which can freely pull in and out all the way, it will lock ONLY when the car stopped suddenly)

can i use KF30 WITH Base on the middle seat???

Yes, you'll simply use the lockoff on the shoulder belt side.

What car do you have? Those seatbelts are pretty rare. Since 1997 cars have required belts that lock before a crash, and if it doesn't lock at the shoulder it locks at the buckle. It's not a big deal for the Keyfit, as either way you use the lockoff, but it's good to know what you have.

Thank you for your reply!

Actually i am a father in HONG KONG. It may make you surprised that, carseat is not a MUST under the Law of HK, and even still many hk peoples never buy a carseat for their kids! So there are limited choices of the carseats available in HK.

i just bought a Britax Frontier 85 for my 3.5 yo DD while the old one is group 1, 2 , and i am searching information for my girl expected in the coming March.

i am driving a mid-sized sedan Nissan Cefiro 2006 , (aka Maxima in US) due to the poor regulation so only ELR belt on the middle back seat (while ALR on the outboard)

Thx for your reply again, it make me confident to buy KF30 online. As u know, i can only shop online thr'u US shop, i can't bare the risk to return the carseat.

I've been to Asia a couple of times. Not surprised at all that nothing is required. I've been to mainland China where people bundle their babies in three snowsuits and then hold them on their lap in the car. But it was Korea where the driver in the taxi started moving while I was installing my daughter's carseat while the taxi door was still open (so he wouldn't drive off). So no, I get it.

The Keyfit is great for international cars since it has the lockoffs. For the Frontier try the long belt path, though if you honestly have ALR belts you won't need a locking clip. I'd call Britax and have one sent to you, though, just to be on the safe side, unless you can find one locally. That way you have it if you need it.

Have you got ISOFIX? That's another option.

I don't think you're going to get a Keyfit and Frontier next to one another in that size car, though. The Frontier is WIDE.

My car doesn't have ISOFIX.

i bought FR 85 coz my boy was complaining the original carseat was too tight for him. I had to buy a new one but i don't want him to use 3pt seatbelt right now. That's why i chose FR 85 .

I know that i might not able to put KF 30 next to FR85 , but as there are no pre-sale service in HK, and i cannot return the product. So i just want to try. If i cannot put KF30 in the middle , i have to put it on the another outboard side.
But the result is that my wife cannot also sit at the back and take care the newborn baby , she need to sit in the front and watch the BB through the backseat mirror.

Or, u can suggest me alternatives?

I cannot get my seats side by side either so they ride outboard and I ride up front and use a mirror. It's not ideal IMO bc my infant son HATES the car. However I use ISOFIX with the base as the middle position in my car (Prius) is not wide enough for the base. So that's something else to consider and you can measure for that before ordering (my base is wider than the distance between belt stalks on either side).

Your other option is a European seat as they are designed to work without retracting locks.
