Car seat tipping

Hello,
My daughter has a Britax click tight convertible car seat that is rear facing and tipping towards the middle seat of my husbands truck. The shoulder belt is tight on the side that is closest to the middle seat and looser on the window side. My husband fixed it a bit by straightening it but still leaning. How to fix? The styrofoam of the right head area has broken but is still there. Does that make it garbage?

Hi Gillian. Let's start with the foam first. Give Britax a call about that and see what their take on it is. We can't say for sure whether or not it's still safe to use.

For the tipping: is it sitting in a crack in the vehicle seat? Sometimes that causes a carseat to fall into the crack and there's nothing you can do but move it to a different location. It sounds like the seat belt is fine: it will be tight on the end that plugs into the buckle and the shoulder portion on the other side should be loose (the lap portion on that side will be very tight).
