car seat 3 in 1

hi there,

i'm looking for your recommendation regarding a 3 in 1 car seat to purchase. i currently have the britax b safe car seat but my infant is growing out of it soon. i drive a lexus is250 car which doesn't have a lot of room for a bulky car seat. my limit to spend is 300 dollars CDN. i'm hoping to get your advice as to what car seat has great ratings and will be easy to install for my car as well.

The issue with 3-in-1 seats (rear facing > forward facing > booster) is that they typically make junky boosters. So ideally you will focus more on a convertible seat - which is one that converts from rear facing to forward facing only. Way down the road when it's time for a booster seat you will buy it separately. Assuming you are ok with taking that advice I'll go ahead and list off some seats that you could consider..

Those ^ should all work nicely in your vehicle, and keep baby rear facing for a good long time (until age 2+, if you are willing), and forward facing until at least 40 pounds and age 4+.

Normally I would also list Britax as an option, but the latest G4 line-up of convertible seats in Canada have mandatory rear faced tethering rules. If you want to learn more about that (pros and cons) please scroll down on the Canadian forum page where you will find a lengthy thread. As long as you do your research on the matter and know what you're getting into, a Britax is also a fine choice.
