I have in my mind to do a 3-across (inspired by a trip to the beach we're taking in 2 weeks) but if it works for the road and 3 days I'll leave it!

config#1- rf PV/rf CA/rf CC
config#2-rf PV/rf EFTA/ff GN
config#3-rf XT/rf MA/ff FR

Please tell me which two configurations and where in the van you'd place everyone (ie Config#1+3 drivers-pass?)

car probably friends '04 8 pass Sienna and yes 6 kids 2 adults 4-5 kids we'd prefer to have rf! no boosters unless absolute no go then I'll grab a PWSG from BuyBuyBaby.

Any ideas please let me know we have 2 weeks to figure this out...

I don't know what a PV is, but it is highly unlikely that you can include the Nauti or the EFTA in a 3 across situation. I think #1 sounds the most likely, but #3 is possible. I wish I had car seats to practice 3 across in, but I don't. Le sigh. ;)

Re: can I make this work? any tips?

PV is the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio. And though I'm not surprised about the EFTA I am about the FR. Hmmm what about PV/CA/MA and FR/PWSG/EFTA? We're trying to use seats we already have but are willing to make a purchase if need be

The GN is probably to wide for most 3 across too.

You can probably do pretty much any combination of seats you attempt in the Sienna's second row. It's the third row that poses more of a challenge. :) I think JenniferMomtomany or Christineka can suggest third row combinations because they have/had six kids riding in their Siennas, for example, and you can sift through the Successful 3 Across thread at http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?t=33226 for a number of workable combinations in the Sienna. I only have two kids and rarely transport additional children, and thus haven't done lots of 3 across experiments in the third row in ours.

Dang, sorry I meant the Nauti is bad for 3 across, I haven't played with the Frontier (sad) so I can't vouch for that one. Off to edit original post...
