the lady i have been babysitting for has 2 girls, ages 6(turning 7 in a couple weeks) and 9. they are about average height for their ages but are heavy girls.
im not sure what they have for boosters in their car but the other day i arranged for someone to pick them up at home and drive them to a kids program at church. the mom was home sick and needed to rest and the dad had the car and boosters at work. the girls told me they needed a booster for the younger one and i said no problem id lend them one of mine. then later they said they had one in their basement they could use. the thought did cross my mind of how old is that seat?
after lunch i drove to their house, parked in their driveway and walked with all the kids to the beach, the booster that they had used earlier that day was sitting on their deck, i was in shock because i had seen that seat before, i had one for tasha and got rid of it because it had expired! i told the mom that and she had the attitude of "oh well, its just a booster" and then said a friend had picked it up for her at a yard sale for $5!
i have no idea what the seat is but its a century with a dark gray cover and there are little colored rectangles all over it, almost like confetti.
i got mine when tasha had just turned 4, i had always taken the bus so i didnt know much about carseats and i bought it from a friend whos son had outgrown it. it expired about 3 years ago.
i also wonder if this booster is the one i got rid of, i didnt know to destroy it and it went out on big garbage day which means someone could have taken it. if it did happen to be that one then i know it hasnt been in an accident at least but i have no idea.
can i get some info to pass on to her explaining why she should destroy the seat?
