The Pinnacle is the Frontier 90 with extra side impact cushions on the sides. Other than that they are the same seat.

Yep, same seat other than the side cushions. They both came out in the spring, so neither is newer than the other.

There are no testing standards for side impact, but if you like the idea of the extra protection and have the room, it may be a bit safer. We just don't know for sure.

I have one of each. The Frontier90 in my car and the Pinnacle90 in hubby's 1997 expedition. The only reason we got a Pinnacle instead of a 2nd Frontier is because I caught a great sale and the I have the one that I like the print of best in my car.

I feel my daughter is equally safe in either one and I LOVE how easy the install is.

Since you have both the fr90 and and pin90, can you tell me is the pinacle 90 softer and more comphy formthemchild. I have noplace to see thenpinacle 90 in person, so was wondering the comfort differences, also does either help their heads from falling over when they sleep? Which is better for no head sagging? Thanks!

They are going to both be just as comfortable they are the same seat except the Pinnacle has the SICT side air bags. DD has head flop in her FR90 but I will admit I never tried it in recline mode to see if it helps (she has head flop in every seat). I can tell you that if you have some one that will ever have to sit next to the seat the SICT bags on the side take up a lot of room, its actually why DD has a FR90 not a Pin 90. I have I Frontier 85 SICT, FR85 x2 and a FR90, Ive successfully sat between the FR90 and FR85 in a ford edge but there is no way I could have sat between them if we would have used the seat with the SICT).

Same exact seat inside, the only difference is the pads on the outside. I find that my daughter's head fall forward if she is super asleep whether the seat is in recline mode or not, but it bugs me, not her, so I do my best to get her to move if I can and just don't worry about it if I can't. It is not an issue at all from a safety standpoint.

I just asked my 5 year old, just for fun, which one is more comfortable. I thought she might pick one over the other based on how it looks even though I was asking about comfort. Nope, she looked at me like I was nuts and said they both feel exactly the same. I also asked her if they are comfortable and she said yes.
