Can you use a Britax Frontier in a plane seat? I'm debating bringing it on board for my 2.5 yr old to use (he is normally FF in a boulevard ) on the plane and having my 6.5 yr old just sit in the plane seat. Once at our destination, we will be met with my brother to bring a boulevard for the 2.5 yr old to use and my older son will use the Frontier. Are the frontiers certified for use on planes?

Technically yes bit it is so super heavy and I think the approved way to use it, the child would literally be sitting on the plane buckle?

Can he for in any other harness seat? Or can you take a booster for him? By the time my kids are 5.5 or so, we just booster them on airplane trips.

I agree with the PPs -- I've never lugged a Frontier through an airport but it looks like it'd be awfully bulky. And at 19" wide, to get it through an aircraft aisle you will probably have to be lifting it pretty high.

How big is your 6.5yo? If he's big enough and mature enough, I'd consider bringing a booster for him or having one waiting at the other end -- even if he's normally harnessed at home. My older kids love their harnesses but they understand that sometimes for ease of travel they need to be in boosters. If you're not comfortable having him in a booster yet, is he still small enough to fit in a Boulevard? Because if he is, it'd be easier to bring your Boulevard on board for your 2.5yo and have the other waiting when you arrive.

Bringing the Frontier would technically probably work, but changing strap settings etc. before departure and again at your destination also tends to swallow up some time.

I agree I would want to take a boulevard (actually what would be even lighter is a Scenera if you have a desire to own a spare seat) for the 2.5 year old and pack a bubblebum for the six year old. Or ask your brother who was going to lend you the boulevard if he could pick up a harmony youth booster for $14 and bring that to you for the six year old to use.
I have not flown with our frontier and would not want to do so.
