I am trying to figure out if my child should switch from Harness Mode to Booster Mode.

For harness mode, you must:

1. Be at least two years of age (Yes, she's 7, almost 8)
2. Weigh between 25-85 pounds (Yes, she weighs 54.5)
3. Stand 30-57 inches (Yes, she's 53 inches)
4. Top of ears below top of head restraint (Yes)
5. Harness straps at or above shoulders (NO)

At the top most position, the straps are still below her shoulders.

Should we switch to belt positioning booster mode now?

Welcome! If the top harness slots are below her shoulders, then yes, you should convert the seat to booster mode. In forward-facing mode, carseats should have the harness slots *above* the child's shoulders.

For the Frontier 85, you'll need to remove the harness and keep it in a safe place. Then, on the back of the headrest, there's a screw you'll need to remove as well. Keep that in a safe place too so you don't lose it in case you want to use the carseat in harness mode again (within its lifespan). Once that screw is removed, you'll be able to move the headrest up higher so it works in booster mode.

Position the red shoulder belt guides so they're just above your daughter's shoulders and thread the shoulder belt through them. Keep adjusting the headrest up as she grows taller. The lap belt goes through the red guides in front of her hips and the shoulder belt goes under the red guide with the lap belt next to the buckle. Let me find a pic.
