Booster seat ?

DD's currently FF in a 5pt, but will be with MIL 2x a month so we purchased a booster for MIL's car. She's 5 1/2 and is within the height and weight ratio, but what do I need to know about having her in this seat?

What booster seat did you buy? Have you tried your child in it to see how the seatbelt fits?

Some booster seats position the seatbelt well for a child, while others don't do so great. If the seatbelt fits well, then let her ride in the booster a few times to see how she does. Remind her that she needs to stay seated upright the entire trip, and can't lean over to pick up toys or harass/bother a brother or sister. She also shouldn't be playing with the seatbelt.

TY for the link. We bought the a Parkway. MIL will be visiting tomorrow so we can try it in her car. We live in a really rural area it just wasn't possible to get to a retailer to try it-I had to order online. We've been discussing with DD the importance of sitting correctly while in a booster. She's 5 and very mature for her age and will not have anyone in the back seat to distract her. Since she will be only traveling 15min at a time while in MIL vehicle, I'm not too worried about boredom and distraction. She should be good with a few books.

I think I'll take her frontier out of our car and have her ride in it (the booster) in the car with me before I send her off in it with MIL, to see how she does.
