Best seat with most hip room

So I'm trying to decide between an Evenflo SureRide and a Safety 1st Guide 65.

I tried putting DS in a cosco scenera and the crotch strap or what not was so short that he just couldn't comfortably fit because we cloth diaper. Will I find that problem with either of these? Is there a way to "try them out"? I was also looking at a Graco Myride but saw that someone posted that it had a short crotch strap.

Just about any store that sells car seats has floor models that you can try him out in, which should hopefully help you find one with a crotch strap long enough for him.
