Base is cracked Recaro Start Booster

Ok so I have a recaro start booster seat manufactured in 2005 that I use for my booster age godchildren in my car. The seat stays put just in case all but a few times a month when DH requests space for xtra adults or when I have a backseat full of littles ;-) So last week was DDs 1st bday and I pulled xtra seats out to make room for all the party supplies & xtra adults...then this morning I'm getting ready to reload so I can go take the 5.5 & 4 yr old to the zoo w/ me and what do I see...cracks and a missing piece on the base near the side where we buckle it!!!! I'm not only mad b/c I don't have the $ to replace it and there's not a booster that COULD but I'm upset because I don't know how long the kids were riding like that or if they were in danger:-( so basically I guess I have 3 questions: 1) do you think its dangerous to use as is? 2) would contacting recaro be helpful at all with the age of the seat and if YES do you have the email or phone # I should try? 3) with kids ranging 5-10 yrs old needing to use the seat, seat needs to puzzle next to an OBA35 or MA65 or SGCS or possibly R80 and I do not have headrests...what on earth would be a decent replacement?! Give me you best thoughts please

I'd try calling Recaro first off.

Has the seat ever been in an accident? Did you get it used?

If the answer to both of those is no, then I'd contact Recaro. Given that the seat is 6 years old though, I'm not sure if they'll do a lot about it? Wouldn't hurt to try.

1: I absolutely would NOT put a child back in that seat.
