Bar on Regent keeps falling into crack/Ford Fusion

I suspect that the Britax Regent (post advisory) is not compatible with the 2007 Ford Fusion rear center.

The rebound bar is just laying there, yet again. The vehicle seat is installed properly. The Regent is installed properly and does not move side to side when tested.

Child is 51 pounds and 49 inches tall, 7 years old.

My choices include:

1) swap with pre-advisory Regent to see if that bar falls out still or to use without the bar

2) use Turbo Booster

3) Try Regent in one of the outboard positions

4) see if a tech can get it in tighter so that it won't fall out

Comments?

Thanks so much!

For a 7 year old child, outside of impulse control or immaturity issues atypical of a neurotypical child that age, I wouldn't worry too much about making the Regent work. A booster is fine.

Otherwise, why haven't you tried in the outboard position? There's certainly no reason not to.

OK. Will try that and keep the Booster ready for center, just in case.

Would you go passenger side or driver side? Narrow country roads for 8-12 miles at the beginning of all driving trips.

I had the same problem in the windstar. I ended up pushing the seat back with my legs, by the adjuster, then tightening. It worked!
