babytrend infant seat, harness slots

Does the Baby Trend infant seat allow for newborns shouldes to be below the bottom harness slot?

If not, what would you do? Any suggestions would be great. A freind sent me a picture of her noob in his BT, but his shoulders are about 1/2 inch short. Would a rolled washcloth between his legs possibly help this? (if its a slouching problem)

A rolled wash cloth may help some. Are you sure the harness is all the way down?

No, I don't. I do have an infant seat right here. Yes, in my room. I could make one.

I would check the manual, I'm pretty sure that BT says NOT to use the seat if infants shoulders are under the bottom slots.

We've had a number of these seats come into to our checks recently and wow do they have a crappy install in some cars. We've had 2 that just would not fit, and a number of newborns who were too short.

That's the BRU model with the jogging stroller. It's not as good for wee ones as the stand-alone seats they sell, with the moving headrests, and the bases are truly inferior. But everyone LOVES the jogging stroller, so it's really popular :(

It looks to me like there is a combination of slumping down and hips to the side. Rolled washcloth and rolled receiving blankets on the sides should help.

Does that version have the adjustable length crotch strap? I have the version with headwings and turny knob, which has an adjustable length crotch strap. The crotch strap must be one half to one inch above the baby's thighs (as in, it positions the bottom of the hip strap there). It looks like the crotch strap could use lengthening, if it's adjustable and uses the same rule.

The jogging stroller is loved? DH and I HATED it. We couldn't get it to steer straight, empty, in the store. It would turn nicely, but then the wheel didn't pivot quite freely enough. It was like you could go any direction other than straight.

Yes, she bought it for the jogging stroller.

Are the harness slots on the Graco SS1 any lower? I still have DD's and could let her borrow it until he fits.
