any reason NOT to get the Britax Pinnacle combination seat?

We're in the market for a combination seat for my 42 lb, 43 inch 4.5 year old. Based on reviews on this site and others, the Britax Pinnacle looks like a great, safe seat that will kids in a 5 point harness for a long time. Is there any reason not to prefer this seat? I'm looking for an excellent car seat in terms of safety (who isn't?).

Thanks!

I don't really have a reason not to, but it isn't necessarily any safer than any other seat. The federal standards are pass/fail so there are no ratings to go by. It does have high limits (i think the highest) which is great for a lot of kids, but it isn't necessary for some. My small and average size kids would not have needed those limits to make it to a reasonable booster age. I can not speak from experience of that seat, but you might want to consider the size of the seat as well. It seems like a lot of seat.

I have the Pinnacle, and I really like it. It's easy to install and use and I like the cover. The harness and booster height is a bit excessive for most children, but I like having the option to re harness for long trips when they're older.

I think if you have the space and the seat installs properly then go for it!

It doesn't make the best booster on smaller kids so depending on how long you plan on keeping them in a harness you may need another booster.

The only reason I would second guess getting it is because its pretty wide.

I actually have an Frontier 90 which is the same seat minus the air cushions on the side of the seat and love it lots its very easy to install and my 5 and 4 yr old both are happy to ride in it. (Lately the 5yr old rides in because it works better in my third row then the frontier 85.)

I agree, the downside it how wide it is. Not a problem for us because we use it in a wide suv and the only other person in that row is my other kiddo in a booster, so it works. We also have a Frontier90 in my car and like it a lot too.
