Another RF tether point question!

Hi All, thanks in advance for your thoughts on this.

I have my little one (13 mos) rear facing on the driver's side in a Britax Boulevard CS (not sure if that makes any difference) in a 2008 Ford Edge. There's only one car seat in the back but the center position is not an option due to the 60/40 split seat (seats fall in to the crack). We just moved it from the passenger side to the driver side to make daycare dropoffs easier. When it was on the passenger side, it was tethered to the leg of the front passenger seat, which was fine as long as we didn't move the seat up or back. No big deal; we just left it all the way back. Unfortunately, we have to adjust the driver seat sometimes because 2 adults drive it--6'0'' and 5'5'', so tethering it to the driver seat leg is not an option.

What are other "suitable" tether points? The passenger seat legs are too far away. I am considering the center leg of the back seat or the horizontal bar that runs between the back seat legs, but I'm not sure if that would be okay. I checked the owners manual, and it says "contact your vehicle manufacturer" regarding tether points. I don't know where to start as far as contacting someone at Ford. Any opinions on the tether points I've identified? Any other thoughts?

Thanks!!

Possibly the front seatbelt anchor. The tether needs to go down and toward the front of the vehicle, so you can't tether to the seat that the Boulevard is on or anything underneath it. If you can't find a tether point, it's fine to leave it untethered.

In lieu of tethering toward the front of the car (aka the Swedish method of RF tethering) using the D-ring connector strap around a front seat leg/rail, the Australian method is also an allowable albeit awkward RF tethering option for a Britax convertible. The Australian method (as illustrated in the Britax convertible's manual :)) is where you route the top tether strap directly back and over the RF Britax convertible and connect it to the top tether anchor you would normally use for a forward facing carseat. It's awkward in that the tether strap is routed over the top of the RF Britax convertible and makes getting the kiddo in and out of the convertible more challenging, but a possibility if you're willing to deal with awkwardness of it.

We also had a similar problem with our Roundabout. We had to move it behind the driver's seat, and could not tether it. I did try the method PP suggested, but didn't like it, so it we have it untethered, but braced against the front seat and never adjust it. I feel just fine about our setup :).

Thanks all. I'll check out the driver seatbelt anchor. I don't think the Austrailian method of tethering would work for us at this point, because our little Monkey resists so violently sometimes. I was just so excited to be able to tether it...oh well. If there's no appropriate place then it will just have to be untethered I guess!

Thanks for your help.
