Another question for a different friend!

My Friend has a 5 month old baby riding in an infant seat. She often takes the baby in her mom's car as well and she currently doesn't have a seat. She would like one for that car. I suggested she get a toddler seat (RF obviously) so it will last longer. I suggested a Britax but she said it's a bit too expensive. What should I recommend? The only non-Britax seat we own (besides an infant seat) is a TF and we hate it. Her mom drives an older Volvo if that matters and it may eventually go in their car which is an older Subaru. Also, are all the seats on Babies "R" Us 2012 compliant?

TIA (again)

I think a MyRide might be good, especially if she's on board with ERF. It tends to install at the correct angle, its compact, lightweight, and installs well (RF) just about everywhere. If she's moving it in and out of vehicles as needed she can just manually lock the belt rather than messing with a locking clip to prevent tilt. Tilt tends to happen over time, not right after the first few in/outs. Keeping the seat RF for as long as possible also means one less step in that she's not messing with the tether strap.

So I vote MyRide. :)

It's compliant at TRU. Its under $200.

Thanks, I'll pass that on to her. Amazing that it can RF to 40 lbs! Times have sure changed in the 13 years since my first was born!
What about this one: Evenflo Triumph 65 Convertible Car Seat - Oh!
It's on sale at TRU right now.

I'm pretty sure it only rf's to 30lbs, and it's kind of bulky. Wouldn't be my first choice.

There's also the Guide 65 by Safety 1st found at BRU and walmart, but I haven't worked with one, so don't feel right recommending it. It appears to be lightweight and compact which is good, but as for how it installs, I have no clue. It's around $130. RF to 40lbs, FF to 65lbs, with 17" top slots, I think.
