Finally!

Children over four and less than eight years of age (who are under 4'9" or less than 65lbs) shall be properly secured in an approved booster seat or child seat. A seat belt alone is not enough to be safe or to comply with the Alaska law. At eight years old the proper restraint system is to be determined by the driver.

your law makes sure the tall & light as well as the short & heavy would still need to be in a carseat.

that's great, but i'm not sure I like the wording..it sort of makes it sound like they HAVE to be in a BOOSTER seat if they are "over 4"...i can see some people misinterpreting that to mean they can NOT be in a harnessed seat.

It says booster seat or child seat, so I think that's fine.

But the way that reads, does that mean a 65+ lb 6 year old could legally be in a seat belt only?
