My oldest was a car screamer. She would scream the entire time she was in the car, whether it was 5 minutes or 5 hours. It was that horrible high-pitched panicky hiccupy scream. We bought her a convertible and it helped immensely, and suddenly one day she just stopped crying. Now she's the best car rider ever--she's just content sitting and looking out the window.
My son also screamed a lot--he had reflux and it was miserable for the first couple of months. He outgrew it somewhat, and is ok now as long as he has sisters to entertain or feed him.
