i would consider it as an absolutely last resort and after reading about whatever data i can gather. my 4 year old is sufficiently old enough to FF age-wise, but she's the size of a 2 to 3 year old and seemed a bit slow on bone growth/fusing in general. so it's not simply about being "old enough" to me. still, rigging the car to allow front passenger carseat installation would've been only as a nuclear option. i'd rather buy a new car than FF her anyway; we probably need a larger vehicle in the future, ugh... well, i'm just relieved that i won't have to worry about this issue for a while.
